I did it. I wasn’t going to, I was going to resist. Really, the PS3 didn’t have that many games I was interested in. But they did have ff13, and I could play Sacred 2 without having to spend a fortune buying a new laptop. And there’s Dragon Age Origins. Which puts me at my 3-games to buy a system persuasion. With actual, steady income coming in, I don’t feel too guilty about getting it. (more…)

I am not always one for poems, often times I get bored halfway through. This one struck me as awesome though. I have my reasons and thoughts on it, but I present it to you for you to draw your own conclusions.

The Calf Path by Sam Walter Foss

One day, through the primeval wood,
A calf walked home, as good calves should;
But made a trail all bent askew,
A crooked trail, as all calves do. (more…)

Yes, I know. I haven’t posted in forever. I have a lot planned, like a review of Monster Hunter Freedom Unite and an update on projects. Life’s been a bit hectic though. I won’t go into anything in detail, but let’s just say I suddenly got super busy!

Current Projects:

  • Haven’t touched my embroidery. I usually embroider in my bed before I go to sleep, but I was able to download FF7 through the PSP store onto my PSP. And there’s Monster Hunter. Playing video games instead of embroidery, bad Me!
  • Finished up one of the Kai Mei Socks, started on the socks for my mom for christmas. Took me a while to get the correct amount of stitches and incorporate the extra stitches into the pattern so it would fit her foot. I’ll finish the other Kai Mei sock once my mother’s are done.
  • Finished the test knit scarf for a friend
  • Doing lots of little crafts, such as snowflake earrings, for a craft show in November.
  • The Bell Sleeve shrug is on hiatus. Don’t like the backing, do like the sleeves. Will design my own body part of the shrug when I get back into it.

So much fun stuff to do, with all this silly work and graduate school applications getting in the way!

Yes, I know I’ve been out for most of September. I’m tempted to back date posts, but I think I’ll be good. Why have I been so busy you ask? The dreaded GRE. The GRE is a terrible exam that graduate schools make you take in order to get into their schools. The full name is Graduate Record Exam. I prefer General Rectal Exam. (more…)

I enjoy cross stitch and needlepoint. Mostly what I’ve done are the Calico Crossroads designs. Anyone who knows I have a black kitty will know why I love making those designs! However, there are many beautiful cross stitch designs that I really want to do.

Angel of Winter from Lavendar and Lace

Angel of Winter from Lavendar and Lace

One of my favorite design series are from Lavendar and Lace. They have a great angel collection. I bought a whole bunch of patterns when Hobby Lobby was trying to clear them out, and I’ve wanted to start one for years. Well, on August 20th I finally started one. (more…)

It is cold out today! Well, relatively. It’s been pretty warm out here in Colorado lately, so the drop by about 10 degrees and the cloud cover make it a nice, cooler temperature out. I went to my favorite coffee shop, got a chai and a Johnson Corner cinnamon role, and worked on my knitted gloves. The chai was as good as always, but the cinnamon role, despite being a famous brand, was not that great. Since I’ve started baking my own things, I found this cinnamon role in comparison to be way too sugary and it made me shakey. I did enjoy the knitting, although I got a couple of odd looks. (more…)

I started on the second pair of the leaf mitts that I had mentioned last post. These ones are going much better. I know a bit more about cables after having messed with the other glove. I started the cables on this one much sooner, and they’re looking better in general. Practice always helps. I’m hoping to finish them in the next couple of days so I’ll be all prepared for Autumn. (more…)

So, anyone noticing that this blog keeps going towards the yarn arts? Not exactly a bad thing!

After successfully making some socks, I decided that I wanted to knit some gloves. Fingerless gloves to be exact. During the winter my hands are always cold while I’m on the computer. Whether it’s games or just doing whatever, the rest of me that’s wrapped up in a blanket is nice and warm but my hands are freezing! I can’t wear mittens because then I can’t type, so I thought fingerless gloves would work well. I could go out and buy a pair, but what’s the fun in that? So I decided to make some! (more…)

Yay! I finally finished my sock! Yes, just the one, not an actual pair. I do enjoy knitting, but only on DPNS. I’ve tried the bigger needles since I started knitting the sock, and I still stab myself like crazy. I’m all over the smaller hooks and needles because they fit my hand so nicely! (more…)
